No one likes talking on the phone to customer service. It’s long, disruptive, and often leads to more communication problems than before. Amit at Gong.io is helping curb your woes with AI to remove the frustrations millions of people face.

The company uses Artificial Intelligence  to transcribe and revolutionise sales. Its software is a service to help people sell more to customers. The technology has instant memory, total recall, and learns from communication.

The idea was born and became Amit’s 4th company. With tough lessons learned in previous ventures, He saw the drawback of having to analyse sales calls by listening to raw tapes. Spotting the time-consuming nature of the work, he imagined a way to automate the process and use technology to transcribe and analyse successful calls and returns, thus improving the quality of the calls themselves.

“Everything is planned in excruciating details,” Amit explains about the company’s impressive growth. “Now, it’s not my company, but I’m part of the team.” After raising $6 million in seed funding, Gong.io raised another $20 million not long ago. Basically, it has the money to support its wide growth plans. Today it has 46 employees, in California and Herzliya, that Amit credits as an irreplaceable team.

“Spend your bullet on the right target,” he warns. “It can be tough out there.” Something he learnt from sales experts is ‘The Socially Awkward Silence Technique.’ “After they give you a negative response, wait until responding back. Usually, they feel awkward and need to fill that gap, and conversation continues. Seasoned sales experts say nothing.”

Today, Amit claims to work 17 hours a day, never relying on an alarm clock to wake himself up.

“I like creating stuff. It’s what i enjoy and what I’m good at. I have no alarm, I just wake up after five hours of sleep every day.”

The passion and ease Amit has when approaching his love of Gong.io shows that when entrepreneurs find their talent and drive, nothing is impossible.
